FCJM's Christmas Movie Chronicles

Alone In The Wilderness (2004)

I guess some people wouldn’t consider this an actual Christmas movie, although he does get some nice warm socks for Christmas and there is lots of snow. However, I kind of like it and I do kind of like watching it once a year or so, around Christmas time, so I decided to put it on my Best Christmas Movies List anyway. The peacefulness and serenity of living alone in the wilderness can/could be quite fulfilling.
( Note; I originally saw this on TV, on PBS. I don't recall exactly when, but I recorded it on VHS so I can watch it whenever I want. I did notice this year (2012) that it did play on PBS several times in November and December. It must be one of their higher rated programs to solicit donations and it is a pretty good film too.
I actually bought the book too, and read it. The book is pretty good also. I am actually not really that much of a reader per say, but I liked the film, so I decided to buy the book and read it too. It is pretty similar to the movie, in that, it chronicles Dick's daily activities and observations and stuff. I found it to be pretty interesting and it does have other details in it that aren't in the video. It also gets a little exciting during the part where a bear comes into his camp. All in all, it was a pretty good read. )
