White Christmas (1954)
FCJM's Christmas Movie Chronicles
White Christmas (1954)
Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen
White Christmas was the first film ~ filmed in VistaVision, or at least that is what
the very beginning of the film says. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but I think that
it means it was one of the first films, filmed in color. Back in those days, filming in color
was very expensive, but it was definitely worth it for this picture.
The story line is pretty good and it is especially notable to me, being a veteran of the
United States Army, but what really makes this a good movie is definitely got to be the singing
and dancing. Plus, I like snow.
Every year I watch Christmas movies, but I can’t watch them all, all of the time. It is just
too many and watching too much TV can become quite a bit boring and tedious at times. However, when it comes
about Christmas time every year, I do find that this movie is one of the top movies I reach for
every year.
Bing Crosby and the rest of the cast make it a very entertaining film, and again, it has got
to be the singing and dancing that makes it enjoyable every year.
