It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed
This one is a classic. I actually never saw this one when I was a kid. It didn’t play at the
movie theaters when I was a kid, as far as I can remember, but I’m sure it probably played on TV from time to time, however,
I just never saw it when I was a kid. We didn’t have
VCRs
back then. VCRs didn’t come out until
the 1980’s. Actually I think they came out with VCRs in 1985. This is the first time I remember
seeing them in stores. I was 20 years old and in Germany at the time in the US Army. So we didn’t
have
VHS when I was a kid.
Anyways, one day in about 2002 or 2003 I was in a record shop. They were going out of business
and everything was on sale. I found a VHS of this movie on sale for about $3. I bought it and took
it home and watched it. It was a pretty good story and I enjoyed watching it. It has been on my
favorite Christmas movies list since then. I have watched it now about 7 times and I will probably
watch it again around Christmas time.
(Note; The original version is in black & white (B&W). This is the version I have on VHS. I am pretty
sure there is a colorized version of this movie and I think I even saw some of it on TV one time.
Either way, in B&W or the colorized version, it is worth watching. Usually I don’t like alot of
the old B&W movies, because, well, simply, they are old and boring. However, I still enjoy watching
this in B&W and I have no need to get the colorized version… But it might be very nice too.
